Yep - just watched the Brosnan 'Die Another Die' and the 'sexual innuendos' were UNBEARABLE.

Now it seems they've re-booted Bond into an action-hero, and less of a suave, sophisticated spy with a bunch of cool gadgets and sexual innuendos.

Ah! Tim got there before me, View would've been my second guess - but you'll have to take that on good faith now. And he's right about the Superman locations, I'd never thought of that before. The poorest Bonds are often the ones just before they reboot the franchise.

You mentioned TND playing with Bond conventions, what about the following Brosnan, The World is Not Enough, which seems to play backwards in terms of its set pieces. The biggest chase is in the pre-credits sequence (boats on the Thames) and they get gradually less impressive until the final showdown is basically a punch up in a sub.

Hmm - let's think..........what would make a really bad Bond film? How about locations copied from Superman and Grace Jones as an evil henchperson!

Tom, I'm betting on Moonraker, too -- it's one of the first Bond films I ever saw, and if asked, it's probably the first one to come to mind for me (not an endorsement of the film).

So I'm guessing your favourite Jett is License to Kill after all of your Mr Davi references in the last few episodes. And Gareth's...Moonraker?

If true, Gareth's choice would let me rest easy about my personal fave being Tomorrow Never Dies, which I suppose is rather like the 90s version of Spy Who Loved Me (well, they both have big ships in them!). I have other reasons for finding TND so enjoyable, but I sharn't bore you - enough rambling!
